Finally, the migration season is over, Unitedempire.net should now be pointing to the new server platform, and the database has been updated.
The forums should be running much faster, and much more efficient. Backups can now be made at a regular intervals, for better failsafe. In the past it has been difficult from the start because the MySQL had a problem of running out of memory during the backup (especially on a large table, like Posting table).

Globat decided to give me a new birthday present: Apparently they went under a new management team, and they decided that the current server setup sucks, and designed a whole new setup.
UEF has been running on a shared server named Stmaarten for almost 6 years, for the longest time it has been outdated, including PHP and MySQL database. We started out with 2 gigabyte space with 40 gigabyte bandwidth, then eventually they gave us 10 gigabyte space with 300 gigabyte. Apparently the... [Read More]
