We just bought the Series DVD a while back. My girlfriend watched the show when it was still on the air and she loved it so I told her I'd give it a shot. We just finished watching the entire DVD last night (took us about 3 days. There's 13-15 hour long episodes).

I must admit, I was very entertained and very surprised to see everyone who was associated with the show.

From what I can tell, this was Judd Apatow's real springboard into fame (The guy who did 40 Year Old Virgin, Taladega Nights, Walk Hard, Knocked Up, etc). He also helmed the short-lived series 'Undeclared' which has appearances by several of the F&G original cast.

Having seen F&G, it suddenly makes more sense to me why Seth Rogan and James Franco buddied up for Pineapple Express.

Anyone else watch this?

I watched a few episodes back when a couple guys were watching the whole set in the dorm. I liked it well enough, but I haven't been inspired to acquire it for myself.

No one else? Poo. In any case, I highly recommend giving the series a shot it's pretty funny and, amazingly, I think every person involved with the series ended up making very secure careers for themselves.

Linda Cardellini (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004802/) (The main girl freak) did Grandma's Boy, Brokeback Mountain and a 5 year stint doing "E.R." and tons of other stuff.

John Francis Daley (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0197855/) (the main geek) is currently on Bones and has likeways had a lot of work come his way since the show ended.

James Franco (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0290556/) of course went on to do the Spider-Man's, Pineapple Express, James Dean, that one movie with DeNiro, etc.

Martin Starr (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0771414/) (Geek w/ glasses), Seth Rogen (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0736622/) (plaid shirt freak), Jason Segel (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0781981/) (tall freak) and Judd Apatow (Director/producer of the series) hav pretty much started their own comedy troop that is rivaling the Adam Sandler crew.

In fact, the Adam Sandler crew guest stars on an 'Undeclared' episode (The other Apatow, Rogan, Segel, Starr tv series) and they're going to come together for a movie called Funny People (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1201167/) (2009) :D
