There also seems to be quite a bit of misconception going on. For one, there are actually quite a few girls out their who watch/read/enjoy hentai, god I've known quite a few over the years. It's just that most people won't admit it to the public, as to general person, it's considered a strange fetish. Also, all because I enjoy hentai, doesn't mean I hate the real thing; quite the contrary, nothing beats the real thing, but saying that, hentai does have it's, niche I guess would be the correct word for it.


Mind you though, I personally for the most part play eroge's now, but it's more because of the story then anything. If you find this hard to understand, take a look at Fate/Stay Night and Tsukihime (from Type-moon), both have amazing stories, and have even bee ported to anime. Hell, no one even plays Tsukihime for the hentai, considering there is so little of it.

The only reason I can see why most people hate, dislike or evne hide that they like hentai(rather softcore porn(Such as solo/pin up/whatever) to extreme such as rape, tenticles and etc) is because of the mere fact when you say the word "Hentai" most people think of the extreme jap perversion of the woman's body. Such as macro boobs, cocks, tenticles raping little loli school girls and etc. I only like the artsy ones, much like Gio. Where a real life woman(I say women cause I like when they actually look 18+), could be doing the same and with all the photo enhancing and editing. I might as well look at a naked anime woman than a naked real life woman. That is, refering to porn aspects.
