Ok, I know this was originally going to be a weekly thing, but because gio wants me to be a thread whore, bi weekly it is.
Also, I decided that when I can, I'll be posting screenshots of characters, scenes, etc. But because of the size of these, I'll throw them into spoiler tags.
Last time I left you with the disturbing side of School Days, well, to cheer things up a bit, I decided to take the complete opposite route, with a much more entertaining and light hearted, albeit still messed up anime!

Ugh, really wish I could have gotten a better picture. Oh well.
Anywho, continuing on, welcome to the world of Moyashimon, a, should we say creative anime that actually has somewhat of an educational message involved? Yes, you read that correctly, educational, but don't let this scare you away, because even then the series is full of entertainment!
Just as in many other anime's, the main protagonist has a power which no one else has, let alone most people could even fathom, but what places him apart from every other anime is what his power is. He can see and communicate with bacteria and micro-organisms. Enter Tadayasu Sawaki, a first year college student who's family owns a yeast factory, and is quite non-decisive on most things. Along side him is his best friend, Kei Yuki, belonging to a family who owns their own sake brewery.
We also meet Keizo Itsuki, the knowledgeable, though a tad bit eccentric professor, and Haruka Hasegawa, the quick temper and wealthy post-graduate. They also befriend the troublesome Kaoru Misato and Takuma Kawahama early on, but mostly due to the two's greed. We also have clean freak Hazuki Oikawa, and "miss-agriculture" Aoi Muto.

[Image] Welcome most of the main cast. From left to right it's Sawaki, Yuki, Hasegawa, Misato, Kawaham with Itsuki in the foreground.
Now, before I continue on with plot, there is one more grouping of characters I've forgotten to mention. The bacteria and micro-organisms! They actually went as far as giving them there own personalities and looks, it's actually quite well done!
Anywho, continuing on! The plot isn't really anything to heavy, quite light actually. Sawaki and Yuki have just currently stared at an agriculture college (of unknown name if I remember correctly), as they try to, with lack of a better word, survive there day to day life. Through out the course of the 11 series they do a pretty decent job at character development, which good chunks of certain episodes directed towards certain characters.
Of course, then their is the education portion. This comes served in two dishes. The first dish is served during the coarse of the episode, with them explaining what different bacteria do, and how certain fermented items happen. This is actually non intrusive on the episode, and feels like it belongs, and won't take your mind off what's happening at hand.
The second dish is the "microbe theatre", yes, I know theatre is spelled wrong, but look at the image and don't get mad at me. Basically this is surrounding just the microbes as they explain what they do. And as surprising as it may seem, at times can be fairly entertaining.

[Image] Proof of the engrish!
The animation is quite clean and crisp, and I personally did not find much to complain about while watching it. Though once again, this series is not perfect, it has problems every now and then of being a bit to slow, and the comedy will not be for everyone. But if your looking for something different and light hearted, it surely worth a watch!

And because youtube has it; the starting theme, I dunno, it's just so creative, and has a pretty catchy tune. :3
