Some of you may know, and some may not, that Joaquin Phoenix has reportedly retired from acting to pursue a rapping career. Since this announcement, he has grown out a shaggy beard and has become increasingly belligerent and appears to be drugged out with almost every public appearance.

For some examples of this behavior, I give you his most recent incident in which he attacks an audience member for heckling his rap performance:

JOAQUIN PHOENIX was involved in a huge brawl while performing at a Miami night club last night, wrestling a heckler to the ground before being dragged off by security. There is a video link in there if you want to watch.

There was also the incident with David Letterman where Joaquin gave an interview sorta similar to that of Crispin Glover many years back.

You can see the Joaquin interview here:

Clearly, the man appears to have thrown his career away. Or has he?

According to various sources, his "incidents" have all been filmed by Casey Affleck, Phoenix's brother-in-law in what many people believe to be an upcoming mockumentary detailing Phoenix's "fall from grace". If this is not the case, the only other likely culprit is Phoenix's history with alcoholism.

Personally, I think it's the former; just a publicity stunt in order to make a movie and you know how I feel about publicity stunts. What do you think? Do you think it's genuine or a hoax for profit?
