My, there are a LOT of familiar names around here. A lot of which I haven't seen in nigh-5 years.

Let's see: About me - In the online pedigree sense, I'm Arainach, formerly of the same username at Gamingforce, the now-defunct Neo Helix/Nobody Hates Forums, and a plethora of others that have been lost to the tides of memory.

In terms of real life, I'm a fourth-year Computer Science major at Michigan State university. Set to graduate in May 2009. Currently working as a Software Development Engineer Intern with Microsoft in Redmond for the summer, and if all goes well I'll probably take a full-time position with them in a year, but we'll see what happens when it happens. I'm into music, both performing and listening, and photography. Umm.....Christ, I'm not sure if this sounds more like a Resume or a Blog post, but either way I'm stopping it now.

In terms of what's changed and what hasn't - I'm still a nutty liberal, I'm still a bit of an egoist, but I have mellowed and gained a larger perspective on some things so I'm not nearly as confrontational as I no doubt was in the chaotic political threads of the past.

Yeah, that's about it. You have Darky/MudKipz to thank (or plot the death of, depending on how you might feel about me) for encouraging me to check this place out.

Hey, more people I just presumed to be dead. Of course what would I know, I haven't been around in ages. Welcome, even though I think you beat me by a few minutes.

Wow I just remember. That is such a huge turnaround. You used to be so anti-Microsoft. Very nice with your job :D

I miss your Spock av, Ari. ;)

Welcome to ... here! Nice to see you again. :)So do I. It's on my desktop. Which is back in Michigan. I'm going back there ever so briefly this weekend, so I'll e-mail it to myself so I can change it. Good to see you too.

Also, RE: Microsoft - I've frequently insulted their business practices, and I may well have insulted their products in the past, although there hasn't been one since Windows 95 that I've truly despised [I never used WinMe], but I have never claimed they didn't treat their employees well. They certainly do, and the entire independent culture fits me well, so I'm hoping it works out. We'll see. But, yeah, blatant hypocrisy, I know, everyone's already pointed it out to me.

You could always get involved with the new OSS department. Although, OSS at Microsoft seems like a oxymoron that will become Microsoft's attempts to acquire *NIX for paying schemes that will be worse than Windows...

Just kidding. If I was offered a pretty solid position at Microsoft, I'd leap on it in a heartbear.
