I was on Amazon.com today browsing DS titles, and added a ton to my wish list. Golden Sun DS, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, but most important:

YES.

All of you need to get DS's. Now!

Aw, they have a KH game?

Don't tempt me, Frodo!

Two, in fact.

358/2 Days just came out and seems like the one that's most germane to the overall plot of the series. Roxas is the main character, and it deals primarily with the activities of Organization XIII.

The World Ends With You seems like it's more its own story arc. That being the case, I'm not running out to grab a copy, but it seems like it's relatively inexpensive, though I don't know much about it.

If I ever forget the name of the Ace Attorney games, I'll just say "The series where the guy points."

This happens too.

I used this picture to help communicate my insomnia to BC during the first Snowbound.

The World Ends With You seems like it's more its own story arc blah blah blah the rest of this obviously doesn't matter in the slightest. Your not talking about this are you?

You know, the game that basically sold out in stores when it first came out, was my handheld game of the year, the "Why the fuck haven't you played me yet?" game, the "Seriously, stop reading this and play me" game.

I shit you not, to this date, it's one of my favorite DS games. The story, the gameplay, the cross-dressing of a male character for +stats.

But back to what I was saying, if your talking about that game, it's in no way related to Kingdom Hearts.

None the less, you should actually be running at full fucking speed to pick it up.

If I may ask, what is the game about?

It's about a game of CLUSTER-FUCKS AND WAIT WHAT THE SHIT? Or more precisely, it's a game about being...in a game?

To actually explain the game will give away minor spoilers, but I'll keep them on the DOWN-LOW!

Anywho, basically the protagonists (others and yourself) have been sent to a different world, a "game" so to speak where the Composer gives you a choice, complete the objectives given or face getting "erased". Now, here's the catch, your dead, and if you win the game, your offered the chance of being revived and sent back to the real world.

Combat is unique as fuck. Basically your controlling what's going on on top as well the bottom at the same time. Bottom screen uses a system of "bottle caps" that you collect and upgrade through the progression of the game, each one has it's one skill and ranking, BUT you can only use so many at a time (say, 1 use healing item, telekinesis, aaand fire), you use these skills by using the touch screen.

Now the top screen is used with either the d-pad or the buttons, depending on if your left or right handed. While your attacking guys on the bottom, your second player (you work with a partner) is being attacked up top in a different style. The different characters you have use a different "style" but they require the same thing in the end, looking at the top screen and pressing the button required. For example, one had a card system that had arrows pointing certain directions, once you got all them correct you end up attacking. For every time you get a "perfect" so to speak you get a star, and once you earned enough of them you got a special fusion attack that would hurt everyone on screen.

Oh, and did I mention both characters use the same health bar?

It sounds complicated, because it really is, but in the same boat, it's unique and well done. I was a bit overwhelmed when I started playing it, but eventually it begins to "click" and things start going smoothly. I found for myself, by the time I could basically do the first character without any problems they I got far enough in the game they through a new second character which, while still using a card system so to speak, uses it differently and brought along a whole new challenge.

Honestly, if your not turned off by the massive multi-tasking in combat, it's more then worth it's weight. And, it is done by the same group who did KH: Chain of Memories. As I said already, to this date, one of my favorite DS games, it's unique, well done, and goes outside the box of traditional Japanese RPG's.

Good enough for me. I'll add it to my list.

I didn't like Chain of Memories so much due to the whole card system. I may pass on that one.

I almost gave up on Chain of Memories for the exact same reason, but stick with it. Riku's side makes slogging through Sora's side to the end worth it.

due to the whole card system

The "card" system in The World Ends With You is much different then what was used in KH:COM, so if that's the reason it's putting you off, no need to worry about it.

The game sounds too cluster fuck for me.

It's cluster fuck with a dash of pure awesomesauce.
