Yeah, I know that this is probably lame-o, and I don't recall if the old forums had a thread for this.. but I just wanted to throw this out here..
If anyone's looking for someone to play with online, feel free to look me up.
I'm on the Hydraxis server (US), and my characters are:
Parisshilton (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Hydraxis&n=Parisshilton) - lvl 69 bloodelf hunter
Faerydae (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Hydraxis&n=Faerydae) - lvl 30 tauren druid
These two are my mains, I also have a lvl 25 nightelf druid named Celillwynn (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Hydraxis&n=Celillwynn) on there too, so I'm by no means all for or against either faction. :D
edit: added links on each character name, so clicking their name will bring up their page on the WoW Armory.

Moved to watercooler for RPG forum.
Heh, I only play FFXI for MMoRPG.

Ahhh Gio! FFXI??? LOL j/k j/k. I like final fantasy games, I just doubt that my now poo-bucket of a computer could handle it. LOL So much respect for the FF players.
Oh, and thanks for the move.. I was debating where to put it myself.
I renamed my priest.
Inlife [Auchindoun] 70 priest. Currently 2107 2v2 arena rating. I pretty much gave up on PVE, and focus all my wow time on PVP.
And I have a 64 Rogue on Frostwolf. Jexta.

I have a level 56 rogue on The Forgotten Coast, yay for being in the worst server for PvE progress!
Though I haven't played in a while...the jump from 50-60 is making my eyes bleed.

I just hit level 70 on Paris last night, too bad the armory isn't responding so that I can't update my signature card.
But I hear you.. lord.. lvl 50-70 took like three times as long as the other 49 levels did.
Now I'm going to try to get another character to a higher level too, heaven help me. :p

I got a 68 on [Black Water Raiders] "Anazril" Blood Elf Paladin. Other than that I have a bunch of lowbies on... Black water raiders, Steamwheedle Carter, Garona, Bonechewer, Dunemaul, Shadowmoon, Azuremyst, and Sentinals. But I mostly only roll Horde. Alli is for sissys and 12 year olds to me =P

I played to like 55 Dwarf Rogue, but then I got kind of bored. I know you're all thinking I was so close to the fun part, but meh. Didn't really make any good friends to play with.

I used to play on Korgath, two 70s. A rogue and a lock and a level 40 druid but I'm playing Age of Conan now.
Yeah, I have a 70 BE lock and numerous other toons on undermine. Have not played much at all as of late due to being in Maple Story land.

Screenshot of when my character Avidiva saw Jesus... a little humor.
I stopped playing 2 weeks ago and I think I'm going to stay off of it until the next expansion comes out but here is my main:
Luzifer (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Stormreaver&n=Luzifer)
Lv 70 Orc Warlock
Afflic Specced
Stormreaver (PvP)
I've got a few more characters, too, but none are very well developed.

I used to play on stormreaver, till well, server transfers to Korgath.
Funny, I have an orc lock that is whatever/31/0. He's SL/SL, really awesome for arena but regardless. WoW is boring to me. I don't know why, it just is. I can't handle it anymore, even when burning crusade came out, I was like YAWN within 5 levels.
Yeah, it's getting that way for me, now. I got my flyer, I got my epic flyer, and I'm halfway through getting my Netherdrake but it's just so repetitive, boring, and seriously time consuming that I just had to step back from it for a while.
I never bothered to try to farm for my epic flying mount. I know that doing so would make me burn out. I just enjoy the game for pvp, and do arena once a week. I'm waiting for Season 4 to start so we can grind up to 2200 rating and get the shoulders.

Sadly, it took me forever to get my flying mount. Perhaps it was cause I was lazy, but I did 80% of the quests and etc but I still didn't have enough for my mount by level 70. And all I spent my money was for training + my tradeskills. Though most of my levels came from instancing but meh. I don't know why.

06-13-2008, 06:43
Yeah, ditto on the becoming mundane part, though right now I am casually doing some dailies on Paris for the gold.. also kinda sorta levelling up a couple other characters. I'm sure that I'll get the next expansion.. I'm holding out for them to make goblins a playable race. I'll be scared to see how the servers react to all the death knights running around though....
But as far as money and mounts.. Paris is a skinner/herbalist. Gather people's materials and sell them on the auction house. That's how I made enough money to buy things. Wasn't too bad.. I think I had enough for my flying at lvl 64.. just like everything else, a bit tedious.
Man, stormreaver..I started playing on that server from the very beginning and it got so packed. A couple years later, I finally left there.
It's now a 'FULL' server, lol.

I have a 70 Undead Mage on Vek'Nilash, but I haven't played in many months. I got all the way up to my Netherdrake (ohmygodthatshoursIwillnevergetback) and was raiding and Arena-ing, but time concerns with college got the better of me and I got out of it. I tried several times to get back in, but could never get help to regear up and get into raid rotations.
I like my name though: Stoppokingme. Hehehehe.

Rondo, why do you think it was full? Because everyone atleast in SE WI told people to play there. After that, well, we all moved to Korgath cause it was so full.
Meh, I was a alche/herby on my 70 rogue and my lock was skinner/herby. It made money when I felt like it. I just can't sit there and farm.
Believe it or not, most of the people in my guild are actually from Austin (my city). We all "met" randomly. I met 4 of them when my lock was Lv19 and we were running Wailing Caverns and I met 5 more just along the way as we started recruiting for the guild. It was a pretty cool coincidence when we finally realized where everyone else lived. My guild leader is just down the highway and three of the officers are just mere blocks away from me, lol.
One of our guildees has his own metal band and he was playing downtown. He got me and my other friends into the joint for free and the bartender even gave us free booze cuz we were "with the band" haha.

Queues were just fine for me, especially since I was Horde. :P

That and free epics + just shitty world PVP. All everything is a grind now, rather in the arena or something else.

I spent most of my WoW time at the auction house being an auction whore like nobody's business. I love their auction system in that the diligent are rewarded and the lazy are punished.

SO! I got pulled back into WoW when I heard about the new refer-a-friend thing. Essentially, when you get someone to click on a link you send them and they activate a full account, as long as they party with any of your characters and the two characters you both use are within 4 levels of each other, you'll get triple experience from killing mobs and from turning in quests. The friend I'm doing this with turned one of the silithid hunting quests into the Crossroads and got 10k exp for it! You're also supposed to get a special Zherva mount, and you can summon each other once an hour and get boosted rep up too.
Additionally, there's brand new news on the horizon for the new expansion. From Slashdot (http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=08/09/15/1643257): Mini-Geek and many others tipped news that Blizzard has announced the release date for Wrath of the Lich King (http://www.blizzard.com/us/press/080915.html), World of Warcraft's second expansion. It will be in stores on November 13th in the US and Europe. They've also released details about the contents of the Collector's Edition (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/wrath/features/collector/index.xml). Wrath will be preceded by a large content patch (http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=08/08/27/194227&tid=209), which will expand the talent trees and include many of the gameplay changes set for the expansion (including the consolidation of spell damage and healing into 'spellpower,' achievements (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/wrath/features/gameplay/achievements.xml), and a new profession (http://wotlkwiki.info/index.php/Inscription)). The patch was installed on the public test realm yesterday, and the current patch notes (http://www.mmo-champion.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=65ea43175927ad440970e4bfc520ea 0b&topic=16098.0) are available.Pretty much the last half of that is the really interesting part, you get to look into Inscriptions, achievements, and patch notes. I'm really curious as to why they would break spell damage/healing by combining it into spellpower. Considering that +healing could get really high while spell damage only got so high without having to use all +spell damage gear (and thereby wrecking your stats), now they pretty much just opened both sets of gear to the other side (healing gear is now open to spell damage classes and vice versa, provided they can take those weapon/armor proficiencies).
Killer_Man_
09-16-2008, 15:15
Way to buff casters, lets put spell damage and healing into spell power. Now with my 1,000 spell damage for my lock(Which was I think around 500 healing cause you know spell damage stuff had some healing power on it..
Now I will have 1,000 spell damage and healing. See this is one of the reasons why I stopped playing WoW. They made the game too easy and it's not fun anymore. Though I did hear they are removing resillience but still, PVP isn't fun anymore. Especially with the removing of res, I think they are boosting stam on the items.
I loved it when one of my friend who is anti-PVP and does nothing but PVE(Even though he plays on a PVP-RP[Rofl]). He said PVE gear is harder to obtain.
I kinda giggled at that. Both gear is easy to get, once your guild gets down the raids. It becomes second nature and almost nothing goes wrong. PVP however though easy, once you start doing arenas it becomes much harder.
I thought seriously about getting back into the game once WotLK came out but now that the time is drawing near, I really don't feel that desire anymore. It's like quitting any addiction, lol. While you're addicted it's fun and great but once you've kicked it, there's not a whole lot left that can persuade you to go back.

Killer_Man_
09-16-2008, 23:29
Yeah the econ is fucked up on Korgath. It was really horrible. I guess that is why Blizzard has been cracking down on gold buyers/farmers.
llama_egg
09-16-2008, 23:43
While gold farmers do fuck up the market, the sad thing is, that's not whats causing the problem on The Forgotten Coast, it's because everyone places stuff up for a retarded amount. Seriously, it's full of lulz when people make a thread talking about transferring over, and they ask how the progression and markets like.
I demand that someone re-starts (or starts anew so that I can invite you and get my damn 3x XP rate) on the Forgotten Coast. Now!
I got my beta key and so far Death Knights are extremely fun.

If anyone's interested in playing with me, let me know and I'll send you a link. I just started a troll hunter on Tortheldrin (PvP). Ok, so I haven't done that much writing in a while.. but nonetheless. Ok, so a few of my characters have jumped servers from time to time, but here's my list of characters on my main server.
Hydraxis (Normal)
Parisshilton lvl 70 bloodelf female hunter
Illastrae lvl 34 draenei female paladin
Celillwynn lvl 26 nightelf female druid
Faerydae lvl 31 tauren female druid
Ryuuki lvl 11 bloodelf male mage
Lalarue lvl 1 bloodelf female mage (placeholder for this name for my deathknight)
Aleu lvl 15 troll female warrior
Sandalstrap lvl 5 troll male mage
I also have 7 characters on Gurubashi (PVP) (second server I've played on), 5 on Blackwing Lair (PVP) (first server I played on), 4 on Bonechewer (PVP), 3 on Turalyon (Norm), and roughly 14 others over 7 other servers which are played so little it's not worth mentioning really.
In case you can't tell, I'm one of those who just makes a lot of new characters. ^_^
In response to KM's post, yes I agree entirely.

Actually I take that back, Horde is just always damn good at PVP unless you are playing AV where there are afkers/farmers.
But there is no question that PVP wise horde is >.
I know I have a 58 druid before BC on ally side and it sucked.
deathofcheese
09-17-2008, 18:39
I really liked how they changed AV from what it was. Horde almost NEVER won an AV on my old battlegroup because everyone was convinced that it was impossible, so more than half of the group would always just sit there until we lost, "farming" honor. Now, though, the new system makes up for what little advantage the map offered the Alliance by allowing the Horde to survive long enough to hit the Alliance where they suck: defense.
llama_egg
09-17-2008, 20:39
Seesh, do you even play half those characters? I mean, I like alts as much as the next guy, but come on, at least level them to 30 first D:
And PvE servers make me a sad panda. I wouldn't be able to live without the gank or get ganked atmosphere.
Currently, on the Forgotten Coast, I have
Dreel; Undead Rogue, Level 61, SHS build (Shadowstep is my secret love)
Proditio; Blood Elf Paladin, Level 31, Protection
And come on Cheese-y, come to my server, you know you want to.
I was actually an alt-fiend, too. I had maybe 12 characters and only 3 above Lv35, Hehe (Luzifer - 70 Afflic Warlock || Wolferion - Lv 48 Marks Hunter || Wolferiion - Lv 70 Feral Druid)
deathofcheese
09-17-2008, 22:56
As tempting as that is, llama, it wouldn't do me any good to leave the server where my friend is, as he's the one my account is linked to. I don't really care what kind of a server I'm on, as long as I'm playing with friends. No matter what kind of server I'm on, my focus will probably always be PvE progression. PvP might be fun, especially with friends, but I'm not really good at it, so I tend to stay away.
Later on this semester, once I start getting reliable cash flow again (I'm taking a semester at home so I can work because I'm only doing online classes) I wouldn't mind reactivating my older account and transferring my mage elsewhere. I've heard that they've opened PvE to PvP transfers, so I'll look into either your server or mine.

LIES! It used to be the other way. Back before even battlegroups was established. My guild would 40 man it(using AV queue UI customization.) and would rock the shit out of it. The only problem is, you have to know how to use your choke points. My guild would sit there and use the choke points. Such as helping out the first LT in that one barracks, then use the fence choke points on them.
As well as people know how to rush the bridge properly. That bridge/turn around point by the GY near that bridge on ally side. That's a bitch and I always felt it was more rigged towards alliance side.
I dislike the new AV, it seems that people just rush it for 20 mins instead of enjoying it. Though I am happy about the 'respawns' limit so you don't have five hour games but five hour games were fun to me.
We would summon our god and their god. It was really fun to do. That and it took more skill to do.
Not to mention they did recently about five months ago nerf the starting point for the ally cause it was too close and they would always cap first.

Usually when Zeitgeist is taken, I do Timespirit or Seegtease.
So I just re-joined WoW and wanted to see if anyone else was active.
Additionally, I've got a short little story to share!
I stopped playing WoW in either 2007 or 2008. When I quit, I had only played up to Burning Crusade and my main character was a 70 Orc Warlock named Luzifer on the Stormreaver (PvP) server. Recently, I was getting a little bored waiting on interesting video games to come out, so I decided to give WoW another look. With Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm coming out while I was away, I have to admit, I feel like a total newb now!
Speaking just from an Orc's perspective, Thrall is no longer warchief, Orgrimmar is now waaay bigger (and, to me, more confusing to navigate) and the word and gameplay just seems to have changed significantly.
It's kinda cool being able to come back to a familiar game and realizing you're going to have to rediscover everything!
But that's not the story...
The story is, when I re-activated my account, I noticed all my side-characters were intact, but for some reason Luzifer, my prized character, was gone. I opened a ticket inquiring about where my toon could possibly be and then I realized I suddenly had several other character on servers I had never been before.
Most of these Toons were Lv 1 orcs. Some were Lv 58 and Lv 59 Death Knights. And then, finally, I found my beloved Luzifer on Ysera server (Normal), but now he was Lv 78.
Clearly my account got hacked while I was away, but thankfully my gold was all still there, as was all my armor and mounts and weapons (in fact, I think the hacker upgraded some of my gear!)
Needless to say, I promptly utilized Blizzards Mobile App that secures the Battle.net account to your phone with randomized code to ensure that no one but you can log into the account. I even got a nifty little passive pet out of it from the Dev Team :D
I hate Normal/RP Normal servers. I gots to have my PVP. I'm going to try and tell the GMs my story and see if they won't restore Luzifer back to Stormreaver without charging me since I was not the one who authorized the original transfer anyway. We'll see how it goes. One way or another, though, I do not want him on a Normal server which brings me to the point of this thread; Does anyone else play? Do you play on a PvP or RPPvP server? If so, let me know and I will see about transfering to your neck of the woods!
Right now, I started a Worgen Hunter on The Venture Company (RPPvP) server (Name: Vinzent). I'm only Lv 11, but I'm loving the start zone and the cinematics that come with it. I've also noticed the new Druid forms on the internet for everyone. I think it's badass (and long overdue) that Trolls can finally be Druids.
I've checked the banks of the Lv 1 Orcs that the hacker made, thinking they might be mules, but unfortunately the banks were empty. I have not checked the Death Knights, though. Hopefully I can at least make some gold off of being hacked!

The level 1 orcs were more than likely advertisers. Be glad your account wasn't banned because I had mine banned five times for it but it's ok though because when I got control of the game, it was a day away from being charged and I charged a year's worth of WoW from them. It was funny as hell, I was like take that you ass hats. Then I removed the credit card.
Regardless, I tried to play cataclysm but I can't stand it. I played WoW from vanillia to Wrath of the Lich King, like 6 years of playing. I'm done with it, I've killed every boss from it and I'm happy with my accomplishments.
But I always played on a PVP server and it was always Korgath.
I started back up last year after trying to play a trainwreck of a game ff14.
85 hunter Jesta on PVP server frostwolf.
I'm sad at the state of world pvp right now. But that game is still slightly fun.

PVP was really fun back in Vanillia but that was cause all you had to have was PVE equips to do well... and as well smarts.... That and mace rogues were fun.
I've been playing Luzifer a bit more on Ysera. I figure I might as well have a hassle-free time leveling to 85 before moving back to a PvP server.
Zeitgeist taught me about the RealID feature with essentially lets you befriend other players across various servers and you can even message them and do dungeons and battleground with them. With that awesome feature in place, the urgency to get back to a familiar server is much less severe.
Right before I quit the game, I was doing the Netherwind rep grind to get my epic Drake so the first them I did after getting back into WoW was to finish that off. I am now the proud owner of a Veridian Nether Drake. :D Granted Proto-Drakes seem to be all the rage now, but it still feels good to finally get that goal accomplished.
Now that I've got my epic, I've just been questing in Northrend. I miss my old guild. Questing without buddies to bullshit with is a little boring, but I think they all quit the game soon after I originally did. Gonna have to find a new guild and I'm not the type of person that likes to join a random guild just for the sake of joining a guild, so it may take some time.
Anyway, if anyone wants to add me as a RealID friend, just send me a PM.

You know Z, you can use that real ID to talk on other games. When I play SC2 I was talking to Zeit a lot. lol.
And I didn't know you can cross instance even with realID.
Yeah, it's a new thing they added. It was going to cost extra, but they decided it would be for the best to keep it free.
I got my priest back and over to horde.

man I miss WoW ... jus sayin. but for school measures i suppose its best i do not go back to the dark side... until i have my grad degree atleast >.>
Sure they make well over 150mil a month, and also have a store to buy mounts and vanity pets. But I'm sure they would love another way to make more money. But I think they had too many complaints, so they made it free.
Unless one day they decide to go on a f2p scale, then they can charge for things like that.
I'm excited about the new transmogrification coming in 4.3. I get to wear my old gear from vanilla wow and not gimp myself. I just wish I still had my Benediction/Anathema QQ

Boo, I sold all my WOLTK stuff by the time I was level 84.
Well, a lot of people have been farming old instances for the old gear. Plus with Void Storage coming soon you will be able to store those old pieces of gear and not have to take up all your bank storage.
Eh... thought about it, and I know for sure I can run it on here, but mythical fantasy stuff has never been my thing. Perhaps if it's at least free to play, with the option to buy stuff, I might give it a go sometime.
