Kevin Costner stars as Bud Johnson, an apathetic, beer slinging, lovable loser, who is coasting through a life that has passed him by, except for the one bright spot in his mundane existence, his precocious, over achieving twelve-year old daughter, Molly. She takes care of them both, until one mischievous moment on Election Day, when she accidentally sets off a chain of events which culminates in the presidential election coming down to one vote, her dads.

Suddenly, Bud Johnson, the nobody, becomes the voice for everybody when the world realizes that his vote will be the one that elects the next president. Politicians invade the small town of Texico, New Mexico and its unwitting inhabitants, waging war for Bud's vote.

I'm not much of a fan at all when it comes to movies like this. For instance, I like Robin Williams but I had to turn off Man of the Year (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0483726/) halfway through the movie. Anyone here looking forward to it? Given that I'm not big on Costner or this political/comedy genre that seems to be growing, chances are extremely good that I will be skipping this movie entirely.

I liked Dave (http://%22http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106673/) but that's about as far as I'll go.

Ignoring the complete impossibility of the situation, all the previews I've seen of it look retarded to me. I'm planning to miss this one.

Ignoring the complete impossibility of the situation

That's pretty much the other reason I don't want to see it. Granted, they are only using it as a means to spread a message but come on.

Some people may really like it, though *shrugs*. It's just not my thing.

I think I'd just rather watch Tin Cup again.
