Anyways turns out However, it was revealed during the autopsy that Whitman had a cancerous (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cancer) glioblastoma (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glioma) tumor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tumor) in the hypothalamus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypothalamus) region of his brain.

He tried to get help. :)

So I ask in a case like this do they still go to hell?

This depends, I think. If there's a mental condition present that compels you to act out beyond control, then as long as you've accepted Christ, I think you MIGHT have a chance at heaven still. But it'd have to be pretty damn bad, I'd imagine. I'm not the most knowledgeable Christian in the world, though. Nor do I claim to be.
