Personally, I'm a bit disappointed. I liked how the series ended

Didn't the series end with the movie? I don't remember the ending of the series really. :\ Unless the series ended with him being thrown into that universe that uses science instead of alchemy.

FMA didn't end the way it should. The manga continued as the anime didn't.

I liked how the series ended as open-ended as it did. I could appreciate the movie's goal of trying to look into their furthering adventures trying to reunite, but I don't really like what they ended up doing with the movie.

What would the new series be about?

That's my gripe about it. I wish I could point out all of the reasons why the end of the anime could have and should have been the end of it (despite the movie and manga saying otherwise), but it's been a long time since I've seen it. All I remember is being a little sad that it was over, but very satisfied with how it ended up.

Unless there's 26 more episodes worth in it, just make an OVA. They can't all be Black Lagoon and FMP...

Yea, the anime ended well in my opinion and it would be hard to change over to the manga story line with how the anime was because there were things that were completely different in the anime than in the manga like core story elements.

Ugh, why, WHY! It's like suddenly saying "Hey, let's make a sequel to Cowboy Bebop". You just don't do it.

They just want to see Rose and Winry get all kissy-kissy.

I'm very surprised that they haven't made a 2nd helping of Bebop yet. Why wouldn't you want more Bebop? That coulda gone on as long as One Piece is (and been about as good as OP is now...>.>).

*cough*

Spike is fucking dead. Sure, they could be like "oh looks, he never actually died!", but I'm sorry, that would ruin possibly one of the best endings in an anime ever.

*cough*

But saying that, I would personally like to see a 1 episode OVA showing the aftermath of the final episode.

Sure that character (spoiler-proofing a post about a decade old show...?) was a major part of the show, but he wasn't the be all and end all of it. The others are interesting enough to pull out another season and the show itself was interesting enough to not need any of 'em.

Of course I'm spoiler proofing it! She's old, but there are still people who have yet to seen it. Hell, I never saw it until probably my second year of watching anime!

But anywho, could you imagine Bebop without Spike. Take the original series, minus Spike, and would it be as good as a show?

As things are now, unless they tried somehow to tastefully add a new character into the mix, who then would need his own troubled past, the series would now revolve around Faye and I guess Black. I dunno, I can't see that being the same, it wouldn't have the same feel I suppose.

In all honesty, I still haven't watched Cowboy Bebop.
And I still know that spike dies.

And I've never played FF7, for long at least, still stuck on first CD.
If I recall, it has something similar going on...

They just want to see Rose and Winry get all kissy-kissy.
I'd definitely be in for some hot yuri action if that's what you mean.

XD

But anyway...

I'm not saying that Bebop wouldn't be different without Spike, but it definitely could reach the same quality level without him or with some cheesy replacement. Faye, Jet, and even that nut-freak Ed are just good characters.

In all honesty, I still haven't watched Cowboy Bebop.

What, that Aerith dies? If you saw Obi-Wan die, then you might as well have...

How dare you bring up the original topic in a derailed thread?! Go sit in that corner and think about what you've done, young man!

In all honesty I couldn't watch Cowboy Bebop without Spike, he basically made the show for me and I don't care much for the other characters at all.

Well, sorta take Ed out of there, as she's, you know, staying with her father now. Yes, I decided to screw trying to hide spoilers, as no one else seems to care. Faye would be, well, depressing now, and Jet...well...he only just lost like his best friend, so yeah. High energy is now depressing depressiveness.

I'm banning myself from this discussion until I rewatch Bebop in it's entirety. I need specific points that I can't make up...

But I think we both agree that FMA doesn't need a sequel. Maybe it'll end up being like School Rumble's "Third Season"...

There could be that whole "alternative" universe mumbo jumbo or they could possibly do a prequel of sorts.

As for Cowboy Bebop, as great as it was, I definately consider it done.

From what I've heard, apparently the sequel isn't so much a sequel as it's a new series all together. It apparently takes place somewhere in between the anime and the manga. I've been to lazy to look at it in more details.

How can it be between the Anime and the Manga? I thought the Anime followed the Manga pretty close.

Some series add things into the anime that the manga didn't even go over. Bleach is an example of this.
